For a few different reasons, we currently do not support Chromebooks with our software. This is due to both technical reasons and practical ones. If you’re wanting to know more about our stance, you can take a look at our FAQs here43.
There is some good news though: Google is making headway on protecting these devices!
Google recently announced that as of September 1, 2021, Chromebooks issued by schools will have safety settings set to default, meaning they can only be changed with administrative privileges. SafeSearch will be on, Enable Guest Browsing will be off, Incognito Mode will be off, and SafeSites will be on (blocking explicit URLs). What’s more, all those in grades K-12 that currently have a school-issued Chromebook will be updated with these significant improvements.
Simply put, Google is turning on their safety settings for all school issued Chromebooks!
If you’re wanting to know more, you can read about it here41 on Google’s Blog.
