Why is CE saying "no network connection" on Mac 2.3?

Since I downloaded and installed CE 2.3 for Mac I've been having issues with my account being signed out and displaying "no network connection" when I do.  This can continue for over an hour even if I restart my laptop.  I don't have a filtering account so I don't have a window in which I can't use the Internet.  Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

Hey Bryson,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. On Mac the "Network Down" error message is a specific one when Covenant Eyes detects it is unable to send or receive any signals from our servers, typically indicating that you do not currently have an internet connection.

There are other factors that are known to cause this however. For instance, do you typically use Covenant Eyes at a workplace or public wifi location?

Sometime a firewall at work, or the Terms and Conditions page on a public wifi can effectively create a similar situation. At a public location you can try clicking on your Covenant Eyes Icon and selecting the "Preferences" option. Inside there go ahead and uncheck the "Automatically sign me in option" and then reboot your Mac. Once rebooted, ignore Covenant Eyes on startup and try to open up an internet browser. If all goes well you should be able to get redirected to their terms and conditions page, at which point you will THEN be able to get Covenant Eyes to sign in

If this issue persists at home networks, go ahead and give our tech support team a call, so we can do further troubleshooting

Same problem. I posted this on a Win CE post also.

I want to use programs that limit some internet access to give me uninterrupted work time. I know I'm off the internet. I just want CE to ignore it and not give me popups constantly. CE pops up in the middle of presentations, screencast recordings, etc. It doesn't help to turn off automatic log-ins, which I would expect. If I have my internet turned off or limited, I expect CE to not bug me about it.

Mac CE 2.3.1.

Thanks.

Same thing, but it connects right away again. My problem is that it's embarrassing. I was watching a movie with my mother-in-law and that stupid messages kept popping up! It happens all time. Not so discreet. I asked Customer Support about it, they said to upgrade. I did. Didn't change. The point is that we are already battling an awkward problem, do we really need to tell everyone that uses our computer? I would appreciate not having pop ups. I liked with when the eye just closed.

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to pop in and let you know that this topic has not been forgotten.

I understand the frustration that comes with this, and it is totally understandable. The dev team has talked about possible solutions that could reduce the frustration behind this, but it is not likely to come out in the near near future. Thanks for taking the time to bring this to our attention, and as soon as we have any traction on this I will go ahead and post it here.

Thanks again
