What CE needs for me to recommend it to friends

In order for me to justify recommending that a friend spend the money on Covenant Eyes over using a free program such as K9 I think that the following additions or corrections need to be made on the filtering/blocking side of things.

As an Android user the top fix that needs to be made to the app is to block apps when they are opened in Multi-window. I can open a blocked app in multi-window and still use it so long as there is an unblocked app running at the same time. I currently use a work-around of having a second App Locker installed, but I feel this shouldn't be needed. Another option would be to have Covenant Eyes block apps from connecting to the internet via wifi or mobile data.

For both Windows and Android I think that having a schedule option available would be extremely beneficial. That way I can set Covenant Eyes to block all internet access during times of day/night when I know that triggers/temptations to relapse are much stronger. This would essentially be a Panic button on a schedule that I don't have to call in to have Covenant Eyes restore my internet access.

Finally, I have found there to be a number of times where my filter on both Windows and Android fails to block websites that are above my filter level and it will only block them if I have specifically blocked that website. For example, a website that I did not realize to contain pornographic content but was labelled as HM in my CE report went unblocked, but my filter would still prevent me from accessing Instagram, which I have manually blocked.

I want to be able to recommend Covenant Eyes to more people, but until it either becomes compatible or comparable to filtering software such as Bluecoat's K9 Web Protection, I struggle to justify it, which is a shame because the accountability is extremely helpful in the battle to overcome this addiction.

About the filter failure you mentioned in the fourth paragraph - please call 877-479-1119. There could be several things causing that failure. Talking with a member of the Customer Service team will provide the quickest resolution for that issue.
