Uplink to several File Hosting Sites very, very slow on Windows 10 PC with CE

I had Covenant Eyes on my PC for years, then took it off for a while because it was no longer a problem. (Computer was in public space, roommates were around, etc.)

Well, a few years later, Covenant Eyes is back on my PC. Different roommate and work schedules necessitated its reinstallation to avoid pitfalls.

That said, working from home is very difficult now. I rely on VERY large file transfers to and from the office and various data centers. We are talking about me uploading files that could be up to 150 Gigabytes, depending upon the work I am doing. I upload mostly to Google Drive, Box and Dropbox, although sometimes I do PTP connections via VPN or TeamViewer.

I have a 1 Gigabit internet connection to my house for that reason. That said, uploading files to Google Drive, which once was measured at a throughput of 600 Mbps, is now crawling at an average of 28 Mbps.

This is a huge issue.

To verify it was Covenant that was the problem, I uninstalled it. The transfer speeds returned. I then installed it again, and everything went back to molasses.

I'm running a Windows 10 PC and have Covenant Eyes version 8.1.15 running on it with Screen Accountability and Filtering.

Do we have any thoughts as to why Covenant Eyes would slow down file transfers like this?

Thanks for reaching out. As a next step, I'd encourage you to turn off filtering, refresh Covenant Eyes, and try uploading a file. This test will help us know if the problem is in the filter or somewhere else. Please let me know how that goes, and we'll go from there.

Do you have an antivirus (AV) program on that Windows 10 device? In some cases, an AV will look at CE as an intruder and try to shut it down. The ripple effects can be varied and may include slower transfer speeds. Anyways, as part of trying to isolate the issue, I wanted to ask about that.
