Trouble with Videos

I have used Covenant Eyes for about a year now and have loved it. I have had very few problems with it . However, recently both my laptops that i have will no longer play youtube videos as well as videos on many other sites. The website page itself will load, but the video does't play. This is also the case if i am trying to view a youtube video from a different site (facebook for example). I have already placed youtube on my "allowed sites" list. Any idea why this problem might be occuring?

Hey Nathan,

Some basic troubleshooting:

What level is your filter currently set to? If it is at Y, setting it to T or higher should resolve the issue.

You may also have to put googlevideo.com into your allow list. Since Google owns YouTube they use some of their background sites to help YouTube videos stream faster

Don't forget to referesh your filter (or just reboot your PC)

I have had the same issue and frustration as Nathan for the past week or so.  Not thinking about Covenant Eyes, I read everything out there about possible fixes, and so I did about a hundred changes and reboots to my computer.  It was not until I removed CE that the problem was solved.  The strange thing is that since the beginning of my CE subscription I was able to use youtube, and my filter setting has not been lowered.  YouTube has also always been in my allow list, but only as of a week or two ago it stopped working.
For right now I have to keep CE uninstalled so that I can work.  Very disappointed.

Hey Cesar,
This is definitely a curios situation. I went ahead and reviewed your filter settings and you shouldn't have any trouble playing videos on youtube. Something else must be at play here. If you would like, I could have one of our phone reps give you a call tonight. Let me know what time works best for you.

I will reinstall tonight and see if the problem returns.  My filter level had always been at Y, but we raised it to MT while the program has been uninstalled.  So once it is back on, we will see how it responds to MT.  If I have problems again, I will let you know here.

Things seem to be working after reinstalling and raising the filter level.

I have CE on my mac that has Yosemite. It plays videos okay but usually pops up a box saying that CE can't connect to the internet or that my internet connection is bad. I can x it out and it never messes up the video playing. It must be a little bug that needs fixed...

We are a little sensitive to dropped internet connections, even if it a brief drop you are likely to get that message.

I experience this with my own mac when I am far away from my router. My network is legitimately poor in those instances.

The good news is that we are very close to releasing a version that will be able to overlook these drops in connection.
