Running Safari 12.0. Covenant Eyes extension continues to pop up

Runinng Safari 12.0.  The Covenant Eyes extension is not part of the extension approved by Apple so will not run on Safari.  I continue to get prompts on Safari to install.  When will there be an update, or stop the prompts?

Daniel,
Thanks for reaching out. With Apple's most recent operating system update, the Covenant Eyes browser extension no longer shows next to address bar like it used to. To verify that the Covenant Eyes extension is enabled:

1. Open Safari
2. Click 'Preferences' from the Safari menu

3. Click the 'Extensions' tab
4. Check the box for the Covenant Eyes extension to enable

If the Covenant Eyes extension is enabled, you should not continue to get prompts to install it.

I hope this helps,

Syd

What version of Covenant Eyes are you running? Please click on the Covenant Eyes icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen, and select "About Covenant Eyes."

Running 2.10.1

I noticed that the pop up doesn't show up after I go through the steps again, only to find the extension enabled.  I am able to run Safari fine, but when my computer goes to sleep mode and I come back onto Safari, again the CE extension pops up.

Did you update to 2.10.1 from a previous version? If so, would you be able/willing to do an uninstall and re-install of Covenant Eyes?

I'm having the same issue.  When I open my laptop in the morning, I get a message from Covenant Eyes asking me to enable the CE extension.  When I click to enable, it opens the Extensions preferences in Safari, and CE is already enabled there.  This happens on a daily basis.

Jason, would you be able to call Customer Support? Customer Support has not been able to re-produce this bug. Troubleshooting over the phone might be more efficient at this point.

Below you will find a description of the two issues that we are seeing with the Mac extension. Yes, there are two different issues but they seem rather similar.

1) Safari thinks the CE extension is not approved by Apple.

In this case, restart the browser. If that doesn’t work, go into Safari preferences and manually delete the old extension. When doing so, you should see two Safari extensions (the problem here is that you still have the old extension even though the new one was successfully installed). If you don’t see two make sure that that you have 2.10.1 installed (this version adds compatibility in Safari 10). In 2.10.1 and later the extension in preferences should be named Covenant Eyes App Extension.

2) Your browser says that the CE extension is not installed when it is.

This is caused by a bug in CE where we cannot detect if the extension is installed, or missing. This issue is being worked on by development.

If you have questions please let me know!

Syd

Good morning Sir,

I’ve checked the Preferences on the Safary App and there appears no Extensions.

I appreciate if you can find a solution to my case, I have done some research and have not found any solution similar to Covenant Eyes in the market, even the Parental Controls of the Mac are not as effective in the web browsers installed in my equipment.

If you need me to contact Customer Services or might be a way that via Remote Control a developer can explore my computer I will be happy to help.

Thank  You.

AB.

Hi Alderman Barrientos,
Covenant Eyes is working diligently on a solution for this issue. Our Quality Assurance Department, as well as the Development Team, are working together to find a resolution. I will post an update here once there is news to share regarding this issue.

I don't know if this helps, but this issue just popped up today when I opened my laptop (it was sleeping). You'll notice the CE icon in the menu bar is dim when the message pops up, but bright white by the time I get to the Extensions window.   It seems the issue might be related to CE not auto-signing in when the laptop awakes. I should note too, the Extensions window opened *behind* Safari this time.   See screenshots below/attached.
