Privacy Error with Gmail, and new update has so many problems!

With the last Windows 10 update, there were problems with CE, I know. I had to call into customer service to have the permissions fixed via remote access. I was told that since it was fixed on the administer account (mine) that the other accounts (my children's) would have the "fixes" applied as well.

This "fix" did work on my profile, and I can now access the internet again! But my children's profiles cannot.

Now my on my profile, I am getting an error message at Gmail saying my connection is not private and so it will not load. A full computer restart will not fix this.

This is getting very frustrating, I am considering finding another software to use, we have had so many problems in the last few months. We homeschool, and my kids need the computer. I have different ratings set, since I have a 10 year old and a 13 year old, and they are both UNDER the ratings for my profile with CE, so I don't want them using my profile. Signing in and out over and over in a single day is tiring as well.

What is the fix for this problem, and is it going to be a permanent solution?

Amber,

First of all, I am sorry for the inconvenience of technology not working well. We depend on our devices these days, and with the risks to our families online, also depend on our protections to support our families.

I hope to be able to help you resolve your specific issue, and will be trying to contact you; with the information I have from your post, I'm unable to direct you to a specific solution without further investigating the problem.

I will offer this point of clarity for others who might read this post and have similar concerns: the software installed on your computer and any fixes that might be applied to it are for all usernames. If there is a technological issue with the software on a device, once resolved it will cover all device users. If an issue seems resolved with one username but not another, further investigation is necessary.

I will reach out to you shortly via email to see if we can arrange a time when I can provide you additional support.

Thank you for being a Covenant Eyes® member and being part of making the internet safer for everyone through protecting your family.

I understand that theoretically it should have applied over all of the profiles on the computer, but it did not.

I had previously even uninstalled and re-installed Covenant Eyes, and that didn't fix the problem.

I installed the Beta Windows release after posting here, and for now that seems to have fixed the problem, but now my son is having issues with the Android version on his tablet as well. I had to remove it from my Samsung Galaxy S7 a few months ago because it made my phone crash over and over, and if it didn't crash and restart, it froze my screen.

There can be multiple symptoms associated with this.  My first symptom was the internet randomly dropping out.  Windows would think it was there, but it wasn't.  I would disconnect the Wifi connection, reconnect, then it would be fine ... for a while.  Then I wouldn't be able to get Gmail through my browser (same as referenced above).  Then I wouldn't be able to get Google contacts through my browser.  Changing browsers didn't help.  Since Covenant Eyes is basically an internet gate keeper, I finally decided to uninstall it (after getting the required uninstall code).  The uninstall would crash; I've never seen that before!  I called Covenant Eyes tech support for help.  They addressed ALL of my issues by installing version 7.2.47, which I believe is a beta version.  They also made changes to my fire wall to make it more tolerant of CE.  It worked!  I have another PC which I built earlier in the year running the older version with no problem.  Not sure what the difference is.  Call CE tech support (877-479-1119).  They were very helpful.
