Office365 2016 Incompatability - activation problems

I am using Office365 ProPlus 2016 (business) on my Windows PC, and had Covenant Eyes installed. After a month of everything being fine, Office started asking to activate, yet when I tried to do so it kept throwing an error (0x80072F8F) and saying it failed to contact its server. The Office 2016 programs would not allow me to "activate later" or anything like that, so I was effectively locked out of Office as long as this issue remained. The problem was not resolved by completely reinstalling Office, but when I uninstalled CovenantEyes all issues magically disappeared - it didn't even ask me to activate any more. It seems clear that there is a conflict between CovenantEyes' filtering system and Office365's activation system. At present the only solution I've found is to not use Covenant Eyes, so I welcome any suggestions!

Hello Andrew,

I apologize for the issues you've been experiencing with Office 365 and Covenant Eyes. We've had quite a few users having the same difficulties and as a result our developers have created a version that should resolve issues with Office 365. It is still a beta, which means it's still in testing, but we can give it out to users who are experiencing compatibility problems with Office 365.

If you could contact our Customer Service at your earliest convenience we would be more than happy to assist you, 877.479.1119.

Best regards,
Annelise

My college son was having the same Office 365 activation error (education package). Downloading the 7.2.10 beta solved the problem. Thanks to the programming team.

Continue to have issues after Win10 goes to sleep with an open Chrome browser.
--On wake up, browser won't refresh (F5), new tab and new window won't connect. Tried CE refresh, nope. Tried CE check upgrade, nope. Tried CE Dashboard, new Chrome tab opened to CE site. Then other tabs could be refreshed.
--Next time it slept and woke up, same issue in Chrome.  CE Dashboard didn't help other tabs connect. So tried a quicklink in a tab and it gave a CE not allowing this site (though previously used). Admin entered CE allow for that site and all tabs started working.
Anything we can collect to help programmers on this? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Annelise,
I'm glad I stumbled on this thread. I've had the same problem with Office 365 activation since upgrading to W10 Anniversary Edition. It wasn't my main problem, however.

My main problems were the other applications that were no longer working after the W10 upgrade, including:
* SugarSync desktop client
* Anki flashcard software (couldn't make a secure connection)
* Mendeley research management software.

All these "broke" after the W10 upgrade. The CE 7.2.7 beta fixed all these problems. I just thought you'd want to know the beta took care of a number of connection issues following the W10 upgrade.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hey, Jeff. Once you have a purchased user key, you shouldn't have to purchase again. Maybe download again and enter the key. If you purchased two sets of keys, try to see if MS will refund the one your not actively using.
