I love your browser because it provides great accountability. It would be even better if there were some way to have the settings in various iphone programs that link to web be able to access the covenant eyes browser. As it stands now, the hyperlinks still point to Safari, which has been disabled on my phone. Can anything be done?

Hi Andrew,

Unfortunately it is the limitations of the iOS environment that prevent us from being able to become the default browser on an iOS device and gaining the ability to handle hyperlinks from email and other applications. If the ability to do so were to become available, I am sure it would quickly become a priority to make that functionality available.

Thanks for your interest in our app!

I saw somewhere that if you have a jailbroken phone there is a way of changing the default browser:

Note: I have not tried this, just passing along info.

My work-around is to copy the link and then paste it into the Covenant Eyes web browser.

With the beta app (Argus), CE will open from a link in most cases if Safari is disabled.

Hello all,
Thank you so much for posting in this forum and showing interest in the Covenant Eyes iOS app! Links from the Mail App as well as other apps will open in the Covenant Eyes browser if:

1. Your device is running iOS 10
2. Your device is running the most recent version of Covenant Eyes for iOS (version 3.3.1)
3. Your device has Safari disabled in Restrictions (Apple's version of Parental Controls)

As long as the above criteria are met, links should open in the Covenant Eyes browser. Please note that Covenant Eyes can't promise this functionality will remain in future updates, due to the nature of Apple's security policy.

Best Regards,
