Nexus Mods

covenant eyes flags Nexus as Mature, though the only issue is that to locate any mature content one must have an account on nexus and the individual user must enabe such content on their account. I understand the need for a flag, but millions of teens use Nexus everyday and no content on nexus is seen or inherently used as mature content.
The truth of the matter is that it is the only place anyone can go on the internet to get mods for their games that aren't minecraft. I'm sure this can lead to a lot of false positives in this websites use.
I would suggest inventing a new flagging the site with mature Teen rather than Mature.

Hello Mad_Pumpkin,

Thank you for your post! I took at look at Nexus Mods and it is correct that we currently rate as a Mature website. I am going to speak with our Ratings Team and get more information from them on the rating of this site specifically. I will hopefully have a reply sometime today. Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,
Annelise

Hello!

I was able to get more information concerning the Nexus Mods website. Nexus Mods is going to rate at Mature for the foreseeable future because there are many inappropriate mods on the site. While this site has a lot of appropriate and innocent content there is still a large amount that is considered Mature.

And yes you are correct that to see the inappropriate content the user must make changes to the filter within their account. However, it is a free account and there is nothing that will stop a user from making changes during a moment of temptation, which is another reason for the Mature rating.

We understand this can cause potential issues with our user's Accountability Partner but that is why a good accountability relationship is so important. We do, on our reports, try to explain why we rate certain websites higher to educate the Partner. For Nexus Mods specifically, we explain that this website MAY lead to objectionable material and since there is a chance for a user to see something inappropriate we have to rate the website accordingly. This way the Partner is informed and has the opportunity to have a conversation with the user.

If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact our Customer Service at 877.479.1119.

Best regards,
Annelise

I find this response rather frustrating given that I've seen other sites that some pages are marked mature (or highly mature) but others are not--for example news sites.  Given that nexusmods itself marks which areas are adult, have nudity, etc, why can your ratings software not simply access these data to determine what the rating should be instead of a blanket mature setting for the entire site.
