Need to re-install CE VPN every time I open browser

Every time I open the new C.E browser on my iPhone (iOS11) I get the message:

"Something went wrong... We're not really sure how it happened, but some of the services we need are no longer working. Let's go ahead and get things running again."  Then I swipe to continue and need to reinstall the VPN. 

In my VPN Settings I have dozens of CE VPN Profiles, which I can't delete. I have deleted and reinstalled the CE browser several times, to no avail.  This does not happen on my iPad.

Also, when I delete the CE Browser and go into VPN settings, I still have a single CovenantEyes VPN configuration with a checkmark, and I am unable to delete it. 

Anyone else having these extremely annoying issues?

I would recommend trying the following procedure. It's better if CE is not installed before doing this.
Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. Note: This will make your iPhone "forget" the WiFi passwords.
Then install CE again and hopefully the problem will not persist anymore.
