My Own Filter Gardian

I don't know if it's possible, but it would be nice if there was a way to lock the filter gardians. I have someone as my filter gardian, so I have to go through them to make changes or unlock ok sites that get blocked from time to time. It's a good injunction for me so I know I cannot bypass the filter if I'm having a weak day. The problem is that I can log onto the CE dashboard and set myself to be a filter gardian as well any time I want, then I'm able to adjust or bypass the filter. Because it takes so many steps that I have to go through, thinking of stopping with each one, it is still a good injunction, but every once in a while when I'm just not doing well it becomes to much of a temptation. I know I could have some change my account password so I cannot log onto the dashboard, but I'm single and live alone for all intents and persposes, so it isn't very feasible to have someone do that for me. Isn't there a way to make it so I cannot assign myself as a filter gardian, maybe so long as there is at least one other person assigned? I cannot imagine I'm the only one who has run into this issue, so I hope this can be considered. Thanks

Chris

Hello Chris,

Thank you for contacting us and I want to congratulate you on your desire to be held accountable!

I have passed along your request to our developers because I do agree that there should be a way to turn off an admin's ability to add themselves as a Filter Guardian. In the meantime what we can do for you is remove you as the admin of the account. You can still call in to update billing, but with the admin title taken away, you will not be able to add yourself as the Filter Guardian.

This can only be done by speaking to a Customer Service Rep so, if you could call us at your earliest convenience, 877.479.1119, we would be more than happy to assist you!

Best regards,
Annelise

Hi Annelise, I wanted to check to see if this has been fixed. If not, could you have myself removed as a admin?

Thanks!

Hi Zach,

If this is something you struggle with I would recommend that you not be the Admin on your account. It sounds like you already have someone you trust as your Filter Guardian, perhaps that person or an Accountability Partner would be willing to be an Admin for you. If that is the case and this is something you'd like to do, then follow these instructions:

1. Log into My Account on www.covenanteyes.com with your Covenant Eyes username and password and set that person up as an Admin on your account.
2. Either have the new admin log into your account with their Admin username and remove Admin from your username, OR call our customer service team at 877-479-1119 and we can remove the Admin role from your username for you.

Once you have done this, you will no longer be able to be your own Filter Guardian.

I hope this suggestion helps.

Chad
