Monitoring Twitter

Does Covenant Eyes monitor Twitter? I have a CE membership and so far I've been very happy with it. If CE *does* monitor Twitter, what, if anything, do I need to do to activate it? I'm using Windows 10 PC and an iPhone. Thanks for the help!

Mike,

I'm glad to hear that you're happy with CE! Thanks for sharing that.

When the Covenant Eyes app/program is installed and a member is signed in, CE will see when Twitter is being accessed. Because of the content found there, Twitter tends to receive a higher maturity rating and get flagged in Accountability Reports.

If you're not seeing that happen for you, then please give us a call. A member of the Customer Service Team will take a look at your account and see if any changes need to be made. The team is available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 11:45 pm (EST) and on Saturdays, 10 am - 5:45 pm (EST).

Thanks again for the compliment! We look forward to serving you,

Robert

Just followed up with CE technical support. I determined that the best solution for me was *not* to adjust my maturity ranking. I'm currently at Mature, and that's good for me because I can still use Twitter without getting flagged. To be clear, I'm interested in having CE flag objectionable content within Twitter. So I've deleted the Twitter app from my phone (since CE can't monitor it), and will only browse Twitter using the CE app (on my phone) or in a web browser on my Windows 10 PC (which is monitored by CE). This is a good solution and deterrent. Just takes some tweaking and understanding to get there.

Mike,

It is encouraging to see your commitment to learning the behavior change techniques that help you in your journey. As people, we develop some pretty strong habits, especially regarding app usage, and those can be a challenge to shift at times. However, those shifts can have significant positive impacts on our success. I am pleased you shared your approach here on the forum so that others can be encouraged to make the same kinds of changes in their own lives.

Thank you for your commitment to online integrity.

Elias,

Thanks for asking. Start by adding the Filtering service to your account. Go to https://covenanteyes.com/myaccount/account/profile and look at the right side of the screen. There is a box of Services and you can add Filtering.

From that point, you can adjust the Filter settings so that Twitter is blocked. How you do that depends on which service you are using - Internet Accountability or Screen AccountabilityTM.  In either case, it's possible to block Twitter.

If you need additional assistance, please contact our Customer Service team via live chat or phone (+1.989.720.8000). They are available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 11:45 pm (EST) and on Saturdays, 10 am - 5:45 pm (EST).

My partner has a new Apple phone.  He told me he does't use Twitter, and the I don't see Twitter app icon on his phone, however, it keeps popping up in the reports.  I have googled Twitter and found that there are many pornographic sites on twitter.
Could Twitter be just "working in the background" on his phone?

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for posting! You can submit a question to the Covenant Eyes Rating Team. A member of that team will look into things and answer your question.

Read the following article for steps on how to ask a report question: How do I submit a Report question or a rating change request?

I hope this helps,

Syd
