Mobile data connection lost when disconnecting from wifi

I am experiencing a problem with CE on my Apple iPhone 8 plus at the moment:

Every time I switch from wifi to mobile data (when walking outside the range of wifi connection), then my mobile internet is offline and I have to turn on my  airplane mode and then off again to regain access to the internet.

I haven't seen someone use airplane mode on/off as a way to regain access to the internet. But, when moving from one connection to another (wifi to data, and vice versa) the VPN can take a moment to reconnect. That hand-off from one connection to another typically happens faster than we notice, but not always.

So I'm wondering if your action steps buy time for the hand-off to happen or simply forces the VPN to make the hand-off. Another way that the hand-off could be encouraged is by opening the Covenant Eyes (CE) app. Instead of using airplane mode, please try opening the CE app the next time you move from wifi to data and experience a lag in the hand-off.

Two other options:
1 - uninstall/reinstall the Covenant Eyes® app.
2 - Reset Network Settings.
