Login using OpenID problems

Whenever I try to login using my google account with OpenID I have a problem. This very "get Satisfaction" forum is a great example.
To log on to post this, I had to find a work around to allow the forum to log me in via Google. Stackoverflow.com has the same openID login problem... Here is where I found the workaround:

http://meta.stackoverflow.com/questio...

This same workaround works for getting into this "get Satisfaction" forum via Google/OpenID. Some aspect of CE works when it restarts, but not when it has been running more than a few seconds.

Thanks

Thanks, at least now I know the issue is CE.

I tried the workaround to restart CE and immediately attempt logging into StackOverflow, but it still gives the same OpenID error: "Message signature was incorrect". CE didn't appear to block anything. I was only able to log in to this site via a traditional username and password.

Attempting to log into this forum (http://helpforum.covenanteyes.com/login) with an OpenID seems to get stuck at http://login.getsatisfaction.com/redi.... with a blank page. However, I was able to successfully log in with OpenID at https://getsatisfaction.com/login.

At StackOverflow, I found I was able to log in with a couple of providers, but not StackExchange, Google or MyOpenID.

I resolved the issue for StackOverflow by adding http://stackoverflow.comĀ/usersĀ/authenticate to the filter allow list and restarting CE. (Log in to My Account at covenanteyes.com > Filter Settings > Block/Allow Lists)

If you are only using StackExchange's authentication, allowing https://openid.stackexchange.com seems to work as an alternative.

A Covenant Eyes customer support representative said, "With sites like this, the filter sometimes gets "stuck" trying to read through all the characters." (By "sites like this", I believe he/she is referring to URLs with long/complicated query strings.)

It would be nice if Covenant Eyes properly handled these URLs without having to add exceptions.

To log in to this forum, adding http://login.getsatisfaction.com to the allow list and restarting CE seems to work.

Curiously, the request to http://login.getsatisfaction.com seems to have a relatively short and simple query string. But it does appear to be opening multiple tunnels through this host (http://login.getsatisfaction.com:443).
