iOS, VPN, & podcast app

Since updating to the latest iOS app with the phone wide VPN, my podcast app no longer downloads episodes.

Do I need to disable the VPN to download my daily episodes then turn it back on?
It seems counter productive to Turn it on and off Willy-Nilly like that.

Thanks for sharing your experience and for reaching out to us. Your instinct is right, that would be counter productive and should actually be unnecessary. I also enjoy podcasts and am using the latest CE iOS app, but I haven't run into what you're describing. For a first step, as simple as it sounds, I'd suggest deleting the CE app and reinstalling it.

In order to get a better sense of what's happening, I have a few questions for you:

 - What version of iOS is on the device?
 - What podcast app are you using?
 - Is your app set up to automatically perform daily downloads?
 - Does the problem occur on both wifi and data signals?
 - Have you had any trouble installing new apps?
 
If you'd rather work through this with a member of the Customer Service team (877-479-1119), that's understandable and will probably be quicker. Anyone on the team will be able to help you. Thanks again,

Hadn't rebooted in a while. I tried that this morning and it seems to have resolved. *facepalm*


If the data is still needed

iOS 10.3.3

Native apple podcast app (for 10.3.3)

App set for auto downloads on wifi -set to check every 5-6 hrs

Wifi/ data was still unable to DL.
I could stream them on either, just not download episodes to the device.

Apps were also not downloading. (Have not tested App DL since restart. No wifi at work I can test later if needed.)

Which is partly why I wondered if it was the vpn affecting DL's.
