Invalid certificate / ios crashes

I noted this on the phone but the ios Covenant Eyes app crashes with an invalid certificate on lewrockwell.com every time now. Someone in your call center was able to duplicate it; she said she didn't have any problems accessing it in safari.  I tried removing history and uninstall/reinstall with no success.

This was not happening before a week or two ago, so not sure if it was maybe a recent update that messed things up. I'm guessing there are other sites that have the same problem.

I literally can't get the app to work at all. I was on gq.com, and it crashed. Now every time, I push on the app, it loads gq.com and then crashes. I have closed the app and reopened it. I've turned off my phone, and then tried to open the app.

Basically, at this time, I have no internet my phone which is effective for me not looking at inappropriate things, but not effective when I need to look things up for work.

By the way, the update did not fix this problem.

It loads the URL that you had up last.  If I've crashed and then I reopen the app and select a different URL (e.g. a bookmark) asap after opening the app it takes me there before it fully loads the problematic site... and thus avoids crashing.

I figured that this problem was not just one site. It sounds like the latest update they put out messed something up. I've only been experiencing this for maybe 2 weeks.

Hi Ferg and Ross,

I am sorry for the frustration. Truly.  We were aware of bookmark issues and crashes. I suspect you are running the version prior to the newest update (I know Ross is as I looked up his account). I would uninstall and reinstall our version which fixed these issues, 3.0.1. It was released to the App Store on Dec. 17. Please let us know how it works out for you. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Regards,

Heather

Heather, the 12/17 version does NOT fix the problem. It is still crashing with the same Invalid Certificate error. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, still no dice.

I am having the same issue on my iphone 6+. I had the 3.0.0 version and it started crashing this morning; I called your support and they recommended I update to the 3.0.1 version. I did that, and it still does not work.

Hi everyone,

So, apparently we have a fix for the entire issue of crashing and the overload of space the app seems to be taking. We are waiting for Apple to approve the version, so it should be released any time now. I will post here when I get word that it has released so you all know.

Have a VERY Merry Christmas!!

My app is crashing every time, even if I try to quickly select a different book mark. I have reinstalled the latest version multiple times, have restarted my phone multiple times. I now have no functional browser on my iPhone 6s Plus.

All,

I've been going through and updating these posts with the info below. I hope it helps!

I'm sorry for the frustration. We are still waiting on the new release. However, one of our CSRs found a fix for now until the update is out:

  1. Open up the 'Settings' app and go to the section call 'iCloud.'
  2. Go to the section called 'iCloud Drive.' >>If it says 'Off' next to it, go ahead and click on it and then select the option 'Upgrade to iCloud Drive.' This may take a few minutes for the process to finish.<<
  3. On the next page switch the slider from 'On' to 'Off.'
Keep an eye out for the update. Once you've updated, you can go back and undo the above process.

Thanks for your patience,

Heather
