improving computer performance with CE installed

Hi guys,

after installing Covenant Eyes on a few different computers they all seemed to run much slower. In particular, the web browsers with many tabs open would crash frequently, or just take a lot longer to load.

I am a web designer and am trying to see the websites load times as closely as they actually are. I was wondering if you could enlighten us with what part of the computer I should upgrade first in order to have a snappy experience with covenant eyes.(or am I hoping for too much and it's just not possible to have a normal experience with CE installed)

Is it processor intensive? RAM? GPU? would a SSD help at all? I have a pretty fast HDD but it's not a SSD.

Any suggestions you have would help greatly. Thank you

Good morning, Brad.
I am sorry things have been slower for you. I have two initial hunches. First, are you a filter user, or just accountability? If you're using the filter, you will likely experience some slightly slower browsing, as our servers are scanning the site real-time prior to allow your browser to load the page. However, that should not cause browser crashes, so you've got my intrigued. I do have an idea of how to speed things a little with the filter, but it would be easier to talk out over the phone. I'll put my contact info below.

If you are only using the accountability service, you shouldn't experience any slow down in browsing at all. Slower browsing with accountability only is almost certainly owing to some sort of software conflict--most often a security software.

In either case, I feel like we would be able to make some headway for you. If you're so inclined, give me a call and we'll see if we can make some progress. Thanks, Brad.
