Immediate Help Required!! My phone is now useless!

Just now I downloaded the free covenant eyes program from the android market.
Downloading and installing went without a hitch.

I then entered my username and password at which point a screen came up saying that I'm almost finished. All I have to do is install the Covenant Eyes Helper.

Included on that page is a link to dowload the helper, however, for security purposes I had previously engaged an option that restricts the installation of applications obtained from anywhere but the Android Market. For that reason, clicking on the "Install Covenant Eyes Helper" brings up a popup saying that the install has been blocked and includes a link to the related settings screen. Clicking cancel brings me back to the "Install Covenant Eyes Helper" screen. Clicking settings brings me to the settings screen momentarily, but even before the screen fully loads, the Covenant Eyes application screen interrupts. I can't switch to another screen, even going to the phone's 'home' screen only lasts for less than 2 seconds before the Covenant Eyes screen pops up again.

I can't use my phone for anything now.
3 options remain, but none of them are open to me due to the interruption of the covenant eyes screen.
1. Uninstall the Covenant Eyes application.
2. Access the settings screen and disable the restriction to only Android Market Apps.
3. Transfer the Covenant Eyes Helper from another source and install it. (this may not even work at all).

For reference, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version.

For future reference, putting the phone into 'airplane mode' (hold power key until shutdown menu appears then pressing 'enable airplane mode') allows you to access the settings screens without the Covenant eyes screen popping up continuously.

That is exactly right billiamson8, placing the Android device into Airplane Mode will stop the Covenant Eyes log-in popups from appearing and will allow you to enable the installation of Non Market Apps which will then allow your device to download and install the covenanteyeshelper file.

As Dave stated, if you require any assistance with this, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Team toll-free at 877-479-1119 and we'll be more than happy to help.

Chad,
I have the relatively new Samsung Galaxy - and tried to download the app from the Android store - same problems as above. Went to airplane mode to download the Covenant Eyes Helper and the same screen just keeps repeating itself over and over, no Helper - at all - bad name for this product.

It should not be this hard. Is there a solution, or is this program essentially useless?

Hi Kevin,

Just to be sure, I had advised billiamson8 to place the phone in airplane mode because he had begun the installation of Covenant Eyes before enabling Non-Market apps in the settings on his phone.

If you have enabled Non-Market apps before you began the download and installation of Covenant Eyes then you do not need to place the phone in airplane mode. the Covenant Eyes app requires a network connection to be able to communicate with our servers and allow you to log in, airplane mode will prevent that connection from happening.

I may be way off with the issue you are having, if I am please explain further. Also, please remember that we have free technical support at 877-479-1119 and we will be happy to speak with you and help you troubleshoot this issue in person.
