Google not working

Using the latest version of CE I have been unable to access Google. Nothing on Google would load and in the bottom of my Chrome browser it would say "establishing secure connection" and then say that the page could not be reached. This also happened on Microsoft Edge. I uninstalled CE and the problem stopped. I'm not sure if it was a problem with https websites. I was also experiencing very slow page load times on regular http sites.

1. Do you have any antivirus protection running on this computer?
2. Did you install the latest version of CE over an older version?
3. How long did this issue occur for?
