Thanks for taking the time to share your concern,

Filtering is something that we want to do on Android, but cannot implement using our current technology. Fortunately we have some major improvements to our Android app headed down the pipeline, and some of them will indeed open the door to filtering. No timeline on when that will be released, but we hear you.

Hello Annelise,

Has filtering for Android devices gone live or is it still in beta testing?  We all use Android devices and this is something that we have been waiting for prior to signing up with Covenant Eyes.

Just got off the phone with Andy in Support. He advised me that CE now has an Android app that has filtering. Last week, apparently, it was released to 50% of current users, and is expected to release it to every one, either sometime this week, or next week. I am looking forward to it, as I dont currently have a CE account.

Hello Annelise, I upgraded to CE for Android with filtering today. I have Google image search blocked on desktop and it's worked quite well. I was just informed that the filtering on Android isn't compatible with anything but domain level and so it's either lose image search blocking on the desktop or lose Google access entirely on the phone. Is this true and if so, is it a temporary bug or a permanent limitation?

Also, the Chrome Beta app allows users to get around filtering entirely and is not blocked by CE as other browsers are. This appears to be a major bug as well.

Thanks,
Peter

Hello Peter,

Thank you for your questions! It is true that right now on Android we only block at a domain level, so all of Google would be blocked on your Android device. This is not a permanent limitation and could possibly be changed in later versions of our application.

It also is my understanding that any browsers that we are unable to monitor should be blocked from being accessible to the user. Since it sounds like the Chrome beta is a potential workaround I will pass this along to our developers to investigate further.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and if have any further comments or questions feel free to contact our Customer Service at 877.479.1119.

Best regards,
Annelise

Thank you for the reply.  We are not currently Covenant Eyes members but will soon be and want to ensure we have the best filtering on all of our phones.
