Has there been any new information released regarding the timeline for the newly expanded device accountability for iPhone?  I'm extremely excited about the work you guys are doing!  Thank you!

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the post! Currently, the new iOS application is in a small beta test. The official release of the application will depend on how that test goes, so we don't have an official timeline, but we are also very excited to be able to offer the option of increased accountability on iOS devices, and our iOS developers are working hard on it!

Hi Isaac,
Thanks for the post! Our developers are working hard on providing a more integrated solution for iOS devices. Unfortunately, we don't have any news as far as when we'll be able to release it to the public, but it is the top priority for the iOS team.

Joshua,

Thanks for asking. A variation of your question was raised in another thread. Here's part of the response from Ryan, one of our Project Managers:

"A new release of the beta was shipped out about a week and a half ago, and the feedback on that has been very promising. We are working on some odds and ends type clean up and looking to greatly expand the beta to more users very soon. This is the next step in the process leading toward a production release. This is a huge step and one we've been blocked from taking for several months. Fingers crossed that this is an indication that we're on the downhill run on this process.

On that point, as we're adding more beta testers, many that have requested to be added to the program may still not get an invite. This is because Apple limits the number of users we can add to a beta app and the number of requests to be added are more than double that imposed limit. That means that roughly half of the people that have asked will not get invited. I'm truly sorry for that, but at the same time am encouraged by the interest. We really do have amazing and committed members, and that is, in large part, why we do what we do here. This work has been daunting for all of us involved here, and that sort of thing is really encouraging to the team. I thank you all for your engagement and your passion. We really do look at you as partners in this battle."

Thanks again for asking; we appreciate your interest in this development!

Aaron,

Thanks for asking. There is not a release date at this time. However, as you probably read above, a big step was taken in that direction a few weeks ago. We were able to roll out a beta version to several hundred specially-selected users. The manager for that project updated us today. He said that, while the feedback has brought two issues to the forefront, the feedback has been positive!

As you can imagine with the popularity of iPhones and iPads, CE can not ship a "mostly-works" product. The app needs to be solid and so does the support structure that goes with it. When those criteria are met, we'll be able to release it to everyone. If you haven't signed up to be notified when that app is released, you can do so at this Coming Soon page.

Thanks again for asking; we appreciate your interest!

Aaron,

Thank you for your interest. We do not have a timeline for the release.

While the beta testing seems to be winding down, we still haven't met all of our internal requirements for releasing this version. Once we do, the Marketing team will get the word out.

I'm not pleased with the Beta version and I hope it's not released! It flags sites that I've never been on. In addition, I have no way to explain it because the report gives you no information at all regarding how it was accessed (app, email, browser). Because of this lack of information, it leaves you defenseless and looking like you're hiding something. Not good for trying to maintain a relationship of transparency.

John,

Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate the specificity within it and I'll make sure your thoughts get to the Developers.

Need another source of feedback from a beta-tester with app dev background?  l would very much love to have my Chrome activity monitored even if I have to explain a few reports to my guys.

Christian,
I appreciate the offer! When I spoke with the Project Manager last week, he said that because we're wrapping up the beta stage we don't really need additional testers at this time. However, I'd like to learn about your background; if you're so inclined send some info to robert.b@covenanteyes.com. Thanks again for offer.

Really hoping this is released soon!  As I just wrote in another thread, there are huge issues that need to be addressed with current CE iOS capability!

This is an update I’ve wanted to see since I started using accountability software.

While I know that no specific date can be given. Is there any approximated timeline? What’s the expected completion date (ECD)?

Are you accepting new beta testers?

Sam and Stephen,

To be honest, we haven't done well with approximate timelines. We've disappointed ourselves and our members and we don't want to do that again. So no timeline or ECD today.

On the positive side, the beta pool is closed. That's a good sign! And when all of the benchmarks have been hit, our marketing team will announce the availability of the expanded accountability we've all been anticipating.

Thanks for your interest,

Robert

Josiah,

Good question!

The VPN is supposed to turn itself back on. I have seen it do that both instantaneously and not so instantaneously.

If you experience a snag with that, then start with an uninstall/reinstall. And reach out here. This is a new chapter of coverage, so any feedback is helpful for evaluating how things are going, what needs to be beefed up, etc.

Thanks for asking,

Robert
