Distraction Free YouTube for CE (excluding comments, recommended vids, etc.) for not blocking OK videos

There have been a few times when the CE filter blocked kid-friendly videos and they appeared as HM on the report, not even showing the title of the video. I'm thinking this is because of inappropriate comments because later on, the video was unblocked and able to play (either the moderator deleted them or they've been hidden).

Now, I've been using the Chrome extension "Distraction Free YouTube", which removes all comments, recommended/related videos, playlists, and the subscription sidebar. What if CE did the same and then the filter reevaluated the rating for the video? Unless CE judges YT videos based on comments and related videos, it might be helpful to remove distractions on the page as well, so we're not tempted to go down the rabbit hole.

Let me know what you think!

Thank you for the idea, and we like how you think!

If you aren't an iOS (iPhone user) you might not be aware that we have implemented a similar feature in our more recent versions of our iOS service. In addition to providing excellent accountability and filtering through the Covenant Eyes® browser, we also now enforce "restricted" mode for YouTube (and also safe search for Google and Bing) on those devices. This has a very similar impact as you described. The down side is that we can only enforce the restricted mode, but not define which content is restricted; the restricted content ratings are dependent upon Google's rating system.

Personally, I would like to see the idea grow, and with your encouragement in this post, it will give it greater visibility, so thank you!
