I posted about this one year ago when it was still called "NMflt.exe"...now it's called "CovenantEyesHelper.exe" and it still leaks like crazy, taking up tons of memory. I rebooted less than 24 hours ago and it goes from ~4,500K to ~190,000K of memory use.
Please fix it.

Thanks for asking about this Larry.

Could you logout of Covenant Eyes and then restart Covenant Eyes and let me know if the memory usage drops way down?

It should drop down to the vicinity of the lower number you mentioned. In actuality, it isn't leaking memory, it is actually designed to hold the url history of the filter in memory. This is why it steadily grows over time. Admittedly, this isn't a great design and we are looking into implementing something better.

Yes, when i restart Covenant Eyes it does drop back down. But, I don't restart my computer very often and thus, I don't restart CE very often. I will be restarting more often now. But, I do look forward to a better solution.

Thanks Dave

Just to be sure, are you aware you can restart CE without restarting the computer?

+1 on coming up with a better solution on this. What about paging out the url history at a certain K? It shouldn't be a blocking process, should it?

I am getting this problem as well where the program starts taking up more than 150K of memory and everything locks down including the task manager. I cannot even log out or restart it because even the Windows utilities don't have enough resources to run. Please update to stop the memory leak.

+217,740 on coming up with a better solution--that's one for every bit of memory CE Helper is using on my computer right now.

Hi Brandon,

What version of Covenant Eyes are you currently using? You can find that information by right clicking on the Covenant Eyes eye icon in the system tray and then clicking on About Covenant Eyes.

Hey, Brandon. Sorry about the troubles. If you're able to log into "My Account" on the CE website, you'll find that there's an updated version (5.0.3.290) of the beta you're running. It is my assumption that this should solve the memory leak, but I cannot say with certainty. You should simply be able to download the aforementioned version and install it over 5.0.2.287. Please let us know if that stops the leak, will you? Thanks!
