I know I am not the only one who desires a Covenant Eyes program for Android. A server side accountability program like CE has for the Desktop is especially needed since Iphone only allows filtered browsers and will never have a good solution. Please, Please, Please, make this a priority :) I love CE and want to see them as the first and best for an android solution.

Currently Covenant Eyes is not working on an Android product. We have not written any code for it, nor do we know when we might start.

Our development team is quite aware of the growing need. Within the last year the Android has really taken the market in big ways.

This decision has everything to do with our limited resources and our focus on higher priorities. Our staff is currently working on many other projects, most of which involve changing our pricing system and ensuring that our Members’ use of the Internet is not interrupted by the services we provide. It would be impossible to focus on an Android app without losing these priorities.

Currently we are investigating contracting our development of an Android application. Bear in mind, adding this would increase the number of products we support, and the more products we support, the more difficult it is to make any sort of progress on consistently improving our services. So we’re in the investigation stage. If you know of a developer or development team that wants to really pursue an Android application, our product development team would love to talk to them.

I think many would pay for this. We're still looking into contracting this out.

I would love this too. I'm current CE user, & I'm waiting for it, and looking at alternatives.

I am not a CE customer but I would seriously consider becoming one if there was an Android app made available for it.

I'm a current CE customer and I'm actually holding out on upgrading my phone until word comes of an android release. I think it's almost a necessity with the mobile porn market growing at astronomical rates. Many people use the iphone, but more and more are using Android, especially with phones like the Incredible coming out for Verizon, it's time. Perhaps a paid app model? I think many people would pay a few bucks for an android app. Obviously free is better, but if you need to offset costs, it's worth it.

I've been hunting high and low for a way to have the accountability of CE on a Android device, and have been a huge fan of CE for the past 5+years. I'll have to get an iphone even though I don't really want one, or a HTC Windows device. It's sad that so many people cannot understand this need. Long live truth, long live Godly men making a stand and living in the light!

There simply needs to be some type of accountability for the Droid. I thought my kids were protected by Verizon's filter but little did I know they get onto the market, etc via other connections and this overrides the content filters, etc. This is simply not fair to parents and to individuals who have issues with addictive type behaviors. The Droid is a wonderful phone but they need parental filters.

An alternative called DoubleAgent is discussed on CE's "Breaking Free" blog in this thread:

Hey everyone,

I got an email from X3 Church (www.xxxchurch.com) saying this:

------

"X3watch is coming out THIS WEEK on the Android. Look for it in the Android Market or follow us on twitter for the up to date announcement."

------

Good news eh, these guys are ahead of the game seems like. So let's keep our eyes peeled.

Thanks to everybody whose commented here or on our blog about the Android question. Previously we stated that we were investigating contracting out our development of an Android app. Recently we have shifted our product development strategy and we are no longer accepting any applications from developers.

Covenant Eyes continues to recognize the great need of an application of this kind for Android. As always, our services improve the more we listen to the needs and ideas of our members and those who desire Internet accountability. If you have any ideas for us, please email our product development team at support@covenanteyes.com.

Guys, CE is great and I have it on all my computers. Unfortunately, didn't have it for my new Droid Incredible. Was thinking about canceling internet when I stumbled upon X3Watch! It's an App in the Android Market for $4.99 one time fee and it will send accountability reports to any email(s) you add... same thing as CE - they will see every site you have visited! Praise the Lord! And keep up the good work CE!

X3Watch on the Android is the same thing as the DoubleAgent software mentioned a month ago. X3Watch acquired the DoubleAgent software for Android & renamed it.
X3Watch on the PC is unchanged as far as I know.

Also, X3Watch / DoubleAgent only works with the stock browser (someone please correct me if this is wrong!). So if you use anything else, like Opera or Dolphin, it doesn't help.

Glad to see that CE has finally moved on developing something for Android. Recent stats revealed by Google claim that 200,000 android devices are being sold DAILY! X3 was a good start, but it lacks the ability to categorize the accountability report. CE is desperately needed for those with Android devices who want to live above reproach. Thanks

I'm waiting to get a new phone and the type of OS will depend on what CE releases (Android version or BB version). Thanks CE for developing these great products.

it is time for CE for Android. I am currently using Verizon's filtering. It is good but not CE.
