It's Seems the filters that Covenant Eyes uses are different per OS on my PC Running Windows 10 Pro 64 covenant Eyes 8.0.53 i can not access the same sites as i can on my iPhone Version 5.2.0

also when i look at the full report the blocked pages i can access
on my phone show up as E rating and for my PC they show up as M rating, to me this is a bit confusing.

one of the sites i read the most about games i play is reddit on my phone i can access the site with no problems.

when it comes to My PC and i have also now tried this on my notebook running Windows 7 home 64bit it gets blocked but i an not aware of that do to some conflict with eSet and Covenant Eyes. Browser does not matter Windows Edge or Fire Fox.

i get a the following error

Secure Connection Failed

The connection to www.reddit.com was interrupted while the page was loading.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

if i disable eSet then i get

Covenant Eyes has blocked

http://reddit.com/

This page was blocked due to your current filter configuration.

Please click “Back” on your browser to navigate to a different web page.

Talk to your Filter Guardian if you would like access to this page in the future.

I am the Filter Guardian and would like to authorize this page.

So now to the Why question

1 Why do some web pages only get blocked on my PC and not on my Phone?

2 What is the problem covenant Eyes  has with eSet is there a setting that i need to change?

JZastrow,

Thanks for reaching out. I'll address the two questions.

1. When sites are not blocked on your iPhone®, is that happening in the Covenant Eyes app or in Safari? In compliance with Apple's guidelines, we can only provide filtering within our app. For filtering outside of our app, be sure to use Apple's own Restrictions within the Screen Time settings. Read this article for full details, https://www.covenanteyes.com/support-articles/set-restrictions-ios-12/.

2. I'll write fully about ESET in a moment, but let me address the Blocked page message. Like it said, the page was blocked because of where your Filter settings are at. To change that, you'll have to connect with your Filter Guardian to either a) get the Filter Level changed or b) add reddit.com to your Allowed List.

3. Your instinct about ESET and Covenant Eyes (CE) being in conflict is correct. Some antivirus (AV) programs will look at CE as a bug/virus/threat, but it's usually easy to iron that out. Most of those AV programs can be configured, aka adjusted to play nice with Covenant Eyes. In the case of ESET, the process is more involved than most antivirus programs.

*If you'd like assistance with this process, please contact Customer Service via chat or at 877-479-1119. Here are the details for configuring ESET.

In ESET, you'll want to make CE an Excluded Application. Here are the steps:
  1. From the ESET home page, click the on the Setup option from the left side menu.
  2. At the Setup page, click on the gear icon next to the Advanced setup option.
  3. When the Advanced Setup screen comes up, you will want to select the Web And Email link on the left side menu.
  4. Under the Protocol filtering section, click on the Edit link next to the Excluded applications option.
  5. ESET should give you the Excluded applications window. If there are no Covenant Eyes files on the list click the Add button. (The files are listed below)
  6. The Add application windows should pop up. It may have some of the CE files on the list. You can select a file from the list and click the OK button.
  7. The file should now appear on the list. Repeat the previous steps to get all six files from the Add application list on this list. When you've added them all, click the Add button to any missing files.
  8. On the Add application window click on the three dots [...] at the end of the blank field.
  9. Navigate to the CE folder. Select one of the missing Covenant Eyes files and click the Open button.
  10. The chosen file should be in the blank field. Click the OK button.
  11. It should now be on the Excluded applications list. Repeat the previous steps until the rest of the files are on the list. When you are finished click the OK button. Be sure to click OK at the Advanced Setup page to finalize the configuration.

Making CE an Excluded Application will help, but you'll need to repeat that work with the Firewall.
  1. From the ESET home page, click the on the Setup option from the left side menu.

  3. When the Network protection screen comes up you will want to click the drop arrow next to the Firewall option and choose Configure... from the menu.
  4. Advanced Setup should pop up to the Firewall section. Scroll down to the Application Modification Detection and expand it. ESET should open the Add exclusion window. Click on the three dots [...] at the end of the long blank field. You will need to click on the Edit link next to the List of applications excluded from checking option.
  5. The List of applications excluded from checking page should appear. If none of the Covenant Eyes files are on the list, click the Add button to begin.
  6. ESET should open the Add exclusion window. Click on the three dots [...] at the end of the long blank field.
  7. Navigate to the CE folder, select one of the missing CE files, and click the Open button.
  8. The file path should appear in the long bar on the Add exclusion window. Click on the OK button.
  9. The List of applications excluded from checking should now have the Covenant Eyes file on it. Repeat the previous steps until all files are on the list. When you are finished click the OK button. Be sure to click OK at the Advanced Setup page to finalize the configuration.
Finally, you'll need to configure ESET's HIPS rules. HIPS is short for Host-based Intrusion Prevention System. Here's how to configure the HIPS rules:
  1. From the ESET home page, click the on the Setup option from the left side menu.
  2. At the Setup page, click on the gear icon next to the Advanced setup option.
  3. When the Advanced Setup screen comes up, you will want to select the HIPS (Host Intrusion Protection System) link on the left side menu.
  4. In the HIPS section, scroll down the page to the Rules option and click the Edit link.
  5. ESET should give you the HIPS rules screen. If Covenant Eyes is not listed on the page, click the add button to continue.

  8. On the Add window, click on the three dots [...] to continue.
  9. Navigate to the CE folder, choose one of the CE files, and click the Open button.
  10. With the file path on the Add window, click the OK button.
  11. The path to the Covenant Eyes file should now appear on the list. Repeat the previous steps until the six CE files are on the list. Then click the Next button.
  12. For the File operations screen, flip the All file operations switch into the On position and click the Next button.
  13. You should come to the Files page. Click on the drop field at the top and select the All files option from the list. Then click the next button.
  14. When you get to the Application operations page move the All application operations switch into the On position and click the Next button.
  15. At the Applications screen, select All applications from the drop list and click the Next button.
  16. On the Registry operations page, turn the All registry operations switch On and click the Next button.
  17. Finally at the Registry entries page, choose All entries from the drop list and click the Finish button.
  18. Covenant Eyes should now appear on the HIPS rules list. When you are finished click the OK button. Be sure to click OK at the Advanced Setup page to finalize the configuration.
