Content isn't monitored on my husband's phone unless the DNS is activated. And for some reason that setting does not stay active.

DnS does not stay active for any length of time.

     Thanks for reaching out! Once the Covenant Eyes app is initially installed on your husband's Android phone, his whole device should be monitored without interruption or pause.

     The "DNS Settings" feature of the Covenant Eyes Android app can be activated and removed at any time; this feature allows for a third party filter to be added. If you desire to enable DNS Settings for filtering purposes, and want to prevent the user from accessing these settings, you can download and install an app locking app from the Google Play Store. Then you could lock the Covenant Eyes app, and secure it from being accessed at all by the user.
