Connection speed as of last update, Windows 10

I have not verified if this is going to be a direct result of the recent update to CE, however my download speeds, on the Steam gaming app in specific, have drop to nearly 1/20th of what they were prior to the update.

To be clear, I was seeing consistent download speeds of 20-22 MBps (160-176 Mbps) prior to the update yesterday. As of today my download speed is sitting around 1.1-1.7 MBps (8.8-13.6 Mbps).

I have experienced this exact issue with other accountability software, X3, to be exact, and while I do need accountability, I also desire it to be minimally impacting on other software that I frequently use.

X3 used a proxy server which directed all data traffic through it, and resulted in the adverse impact, with nearly identical speed impairments. Has this been implemented with CE? If so, is there anyway for applications, such as Steam, Origin, and other gaming applications, to make full utilization of my previous data speeds?

How long does it take, typically to receive a response on this page? I am not trying to be rude, however a prompt reply is, at the very least, courteous. I continue to see download speeds of 1/20th my previous speeds with the recent CE update being the only significant change. As a paying customer, I would appreciate some form of feed back.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for contacting us and I apologize for the delayed response, it is not typical for our users to wait this long for a response and I'm sorry we have not gotten back to you sooner.

Ideally, if you are an Accountability only user, download speed should not be affected. However, there are certain factors when paired with Covenant Eyes that can cause some strange happenings. With limited information about what services you have and what version of our software you're running my suggestions are limited, but I do have a few.

First, please make sure you are running the most current version of our software, version 7.2.11. If you are not you can upgrade by logging into My Account on our website, www.covenanteyes.com

If you are running the most current version I would then perhaps try uninstalling Covenant Eyes to accurately verify if the download speed dropped due to the update of your computer or if Covenant Eyes has a part in it as well.

However, the best suggestion I can give is to, at your earliest convienance, contact our Customer Service at 877.479.1119. By speaking with you and getting more information there are many other troubleshooting steps we can take to hopefully resolve the download speed issue and get it back up and running at an acceptable rate.

Thank you again for contacting us and again I apologize for the delayed response.

Best regards,
Annelise
