Now that Google has announced that Android apps will be brought to Chrome OS natively, can CE make sure that the official app will be compatible with it?

Hi BarneyFifeFan,
Thanks for the post! I hadn't yet heard this announcement from Google, but it sounds really exciting! My initial thoughts on Covenant Eyes being compatible with the Chrome Operating System after Android applications are brought in natively is favorable, however, I would need to check with a mobile developer for confirmation. I have sent the question to our team and will let you know as soon as they respond!

Hi again,
I apologize for the long delay in between posts! I was able to speak to one of our Android developers about the changes coming to the Chrome Operating System.  Essentially, from what they've been given to understand, the Chrome Operating System will be able to run Android applications but will still essentially just be a browser orientated Operating System, so it will be lacking the Android Operating System specific traits that Covenant Eyes uses to run.  They won't know until they have something in their hands to test Covenant Eyes on, but they said it is unlikely that Covenant Eyes will be compatible.

At this time, Covenant Eyes® does not work on a Chromebook.

We are formally tracking the interest in a version of Covenant Eyes® that works on the Chrome OS.

In the meantime, here is some helpful advice from Protect Young Eyes:

Chiming in with my 2¢. Please find a way to provide accountability on ChromeOS! I really want to switch, but CE compatibility is a must!
