Chrome OS

With all the changes to Chrome OS and the fact it is basically a full OS now, I believe it's time to revisit CE support. I believe an approach with two extensions (that monitor each other and report if one has been disabled), or possibly using some kind of Android App, in addition to/or supplemented by Family Link in some way (or the possibility of using enterprise policies, or the app management API) or some combination of the above must have some kind of potential. The idea of screen captures/recording should be explored as well to work with Screen Accountability.

Chromebooks are very well protected now through Family Link providing full control, blocks, app controls and more. Plus the ability to fully control all devices of a child/person is excellent. Chromebooks are definitely better in this area than the article that is still on the CE website. I believe it's time to take another look at Chrome OS. :)

Hello Travis,

Thank you for contacting us! Those are some great ideas and definitely helpful information. I will send these ideas over to our developers so they can explore Chromebooks a little more.

Based upon this new information, it looks like our Chromebook article could use an update. I will get in touch with the person who has the ability to change articles to see about updating it.

We appreciate members contacting us with new ideas and information!

Thank you,

Andy

Sounds good - here are some helpful links about Family Link (at least from a end user/parent point of view).
