CE will not let me connect to World of Warcraft classic

Covenant Eyes is preventing me from connecting to World of Warcraft classic.  When I try to log in and play World of Warcraft classic, I log in fine but when I reach "logging into game" server I get disconnected.  I know the issue is with CE as when I uninstall it I log in and can play fine, but when I reinstall CE the issue occurs again.  Something that CE is doing is blocking my access to the game.  I have tried adding multiple websites to the allow list (worldofwarcraft.com, battle.net, blizzard.com) but have had no success.  The really annoying part is that I played this past summer up until late November with no problems but now when I come back to the game I suddenly can't play.  I looked all over and could not find an answer or fix to this problem.  I did see that several versions back CE claimed to have improved its integration with WoW but I guess not or this is a new issue.  I am running CE 8.1.15 on Windows 10.  I can post screenshots or give more information as needed.  Hoping someone will be able to help.

How does this response have anything to do with what I said?

Gerrit,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Usually when a new compatibility issue shows up, with WoW or any program, we get a bunch of calls. We haven't had a surge of those, so my first reaction is what changed, or what's unique, in Gerrit's situation? I'm not casting blame, just trying to narrow things down.

Let me ask a few preliminary questions:
  • Does the router or ISP have any filtering? parental controls?
  • Has the Windows operating system recently run any system updates?
  • Does the computer have an active antivirus program? It's possible that a change in that is having a weird side effect that's manifesting itself in this connection issue.

  • Are there any turned-off-but-still-installed antivirus programs? If so, remove them just to eliminate that factor.
  • You mentioned filtering and adding sites to the Allow list. There may be something we can do with your filter settings, but live assistance would be necessary for looking at that angle. If you're not the Filter Guardian, we'll have to get permission from him/her to make changes to the Allow list.
  • Is there another filtering program on the computer?
You can answer these questions and we can continue our exchange here. But contacting CE via chat or phone (989.720.8000) will be faster than the forum. Whichever works for you.

ISP/router has nothing.
Windows has not updated recently.
No antivirus, active or inactive.

I am not the filter guardian but I can talk to them and get some live assistance if that is needed.
Usually, I have been able to fix my issues by adding things to the allow list so I am stumped as to why it is not working in this instance.

Gerrit,

Thx for answering those questions. With that info, I have to agree with you, this is odd. So let me encourage you to get the live assistance. Chat support is available until 11:40 pm (EST) and the phones are open until 11:45 pm (EST). Anyone in the Service Center will be happy to help. To be thorough, he/she will likely cover some of the same ground that you and I covered here, but then he/she will proceed to take a closer look at the situation.
