CE not logging any activity; internet still works

I recently upgraded to CE 5.3.2 on Windows 7. As I recall there were some hiccups during the installation process, but, regrettably, I was in a hurry and didn't pay them much attention, since the installation did seem to eventually complete.

Now, however, I find that after a restart of my computer CE does not automatically sign me in. More troublingly, I am still able to access the internet. If I sign in, CE begins logging my activity, but if I forget to sign-in after restarting, nothing is logged and I can use the internet unhindered.

Can someone help me figure out how to get CE back on track?

Hello TC,
This sounds like a possible malware issue. There are a few out there that will give us the problem. We do run a scan that detects possible conflicts but it looks like one might have slipped. I would uninstall and run a scan with ADW Cleaner and Malware Bytes. Both are free and do a pretty good job. Afterwards, I would reinstall.
