CE disabling Wifi connection???

So I just got CE on my devices, but my MacBook Pro is having a hard time connecting to the internet now.  I can select the Wifi I want at my college, but when I try to load the web browser, most times it will say "connection not private" or that "Such-and-such website refused to connect".  Now I know that my college wifi is not the best, but I was wondering if it was possible that CE could be running some programs or code that is hindering my connection from being 100%

Thanks for signing up, I hope it serves you well! The Covenant Eyes program shouldn't do anything to hinder connections, unless you are using the add-on Filtering service. Even then, it would only be checking the URL/website to see if it's an allowed connection or not.

I think the issue you are seeing is something else. Let me advise you to 1) make sure your browsers are up-to-date and then 2) give our Customer Service team a call at 877.479.1119. A member of that team will ask you some of the following questions:
  • Have you tried connecting to the site through a different browser, like Chrome instead of Safari?
  • If so, did the connection work out that way?
  • Have you tried connecting to the site through a different network, like your phone as a hotspot?
  • If so, did the connection work out that way?
  • Does the school have some filtering on the wifi network?
  • Do you have another filtering program on the Mac?
  • Are you using the Mac's parental controls?

Hi Robert, turns out it was my college's wifi that was having issues.  The problem is resolved!
