CE blocking Google Play Store Downloads

Just updated to mobile version 4.0.0.20 and now I can't download any app updates from Google Play Store.

"Can't update app"  Error code: 495

This is the case for all apps.  Spotify, Microsoft Launcher, Google Maps

When I attempt to update, I just see "Downloading..." and then it finally reports the error.

No one else has reported this error?

I can confirm the same thing is happening on my Moto X Pure Android (7.0) phone with CE 4.0.0.20 installed. It just started recently too. Can't download any apps from the Google Play Store.

CE Team,

Can we get this addressed please? Have been unable to install apps for a week now.

John,
Thanks for posting! To my knowledge, Covenant Eyes has not had other instances reported of this error. I suggest uninstalling Covenant Eyes from your device, and then attempting to update your apps from Google Play. This will very easily discern if Covenant Eyes is interfering with your apps updating.

Best Regards,

Syd

After uninstalling CE from the device, it continued to say "Download Pending" on any new apps I needed to download. After doing some additional research, I discovered that an app was hung while download its update, which was causing the hold up. Whether CE contributed to this, I have no idea, but the problem continued happening even after CE was gone. I first stopped all apps from updating that were in the queue. Then I went to the phone's Settings -> Apps -> Find "Google Play Store" -> Storage -> Clear Data -> Restart phone. Apps began updating at that point. Hope that helps someone else.

After uninstalling CE from my device, all Google Play updates/downloads functioned normally.  I keep my apps up to date, so to me the only change that had happened between the prior normal operation and this issue was the addition of CE.  After removing it, normal operation again.

When I have time, I will attempt to re-install CE (even though that horrible VPN banner exists now) and see if Google Play Store functions normally.
