CE Blocking discord and steam IPs

(For reference, I am 18 years old.) I was trying to play some Minecraft with some friends and tried to install discord, but it kept failing to download. I can access the discord website and login and everything except the actual talking feature. It seems that CE is interfering with the actual service somehow instead of blocking the website. I've had previous issues in the past with CE blocking Minecraft multiplayer servers, so this type of issue isn't new to me. The only consistent variable in these issues is CE though which is why I assume CE is inhibiting use of discord.

Similarly, the same type of issue is happening with steam. I can however download and use steam as well as play games that i have downloaded. Multiplayer works also, but I am not able to access my friends list on steam or use the community tab.

Hope to get a response soon from someone. Thank you for taking the time to read what I have to say!

Hi Christian,

Thanks for reaching out. While I've seen issues with Minecraft and Steam from time to time, I haven't heard of anything lately. So let's start with one of the basics:

- Did you upgrade your version of CE? (8.1.35 is the latest version.)
- If so, let me suggest uninstalling/reinstalling. If something goofed up during the upgrade process, this step will address that and should get CE, and you, back on track.

Once that's squared away, answer these questions:
1 - Does your computer have an antivirus program? I ask because some antivirus programs are aggressive and can conflict with CE. But, it can be worked out.
- If so, go to this article and select yours. There should be steps for improving the compatibility of the programs. If the steps don't help, please contact Customer Service (989.720.8000) for full-service assistance.
2 - Does your router or your ISP have filtering? If so, that could be a source of compatibility issues.
3 - If your CE profile has filtering, then you might need to add the URLs of your particular Minecraft server to your Allowed List. Contact Customer Service if you need help with that.

Thanks again for reaching out, I hope that information helps.
