Cannot connect to internet after updating CE

On Feb 10 I updated CE, and rebooted.  At that point I was no longer able to connect to the internet.  I could connect to my WIFI router, but the status said "Limited".  I just uninstalled, and now I can connect.

I do not remember what version I had installed previously, or what version I upgraded to.  Sorry that I did not think to get that.

In case it might be useful, here is the OS information from my laptop:
  • Name:                   Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro
  • Version:                6.3.9600 N/A Build 9600

As a follow up I reinstalled the CE agent, and rebooted.  I can now connect to the internet again.  So I guess reinstallation is what was needed.

One thing I did not try was ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew.  That would been much easier.

For now case closed.

Hi T A!

I'm glad to see the issue is resolved for you. Our product development team has been made aware that a small but significant amount of our Windows userbase is experiencing an issue with their DNS settings after upgrading (probably from client version 8.0.6 to version 8.0.38). Our developers are looking into the issue, but your solution of uninstalling and reinstalling has worked for the majority of our customer base and we have solid reason to believe that it won't re-occur to you.

Thanks for the report! For what it's worth, ipconfig /release or /renew would almost certainly not have made a difference for you, as well as /flushdns.
