I have noticed that nothing from netflix is reported on my report. I watched a Netflix show rated M and it never showed up on my report. That is both on the app on an Iphone and a web browser on a windows computer.

Covenant Eyes cannot filter content. It can only flag URLs that are flagged in its data base as having reported questionable or adult content. Frankly, I'm surprised that all Video Streaming services aren't flagged! Amazon's website definitely gets flagged for youth, as does YouTube.

Netflix has some decent content restriction protocols that require a PIN to view, so does Amazon. They effectively keep my children from viewing content over a certain rating you set. I encourage you to investigate these.

Honestly, computing technology to recognize objectionable pictures or videos is still several years away. Huge processing power required that, so far, only the NSA has. Facial recognition is just now becoming mainstrem.

Hello Wesley,
Thank you for posting in this forum. Covenant Eyes works very differently across different platforms and thus reports your activity differently depending on what device you use:

iOS:

On iOS, Covenant Eyes only monitors Highly Mature content outside of the Covenant Eyes browser. This means that content rated below Highly Mature, like Mature, will not show up on your report. Also, only top-level domains will be reported. ALL activity inside of the Covenant Eyes browser, which is the safest option for browsing, will be reported, regardless of rating.

Windows:

On Windows, Covenant Eyes does not break https encryptions on websites (this allows your personal information, billing information, medical history, etc. to remain safe). This means that Covenant Eyes can not see all activity inside of sites like Facebook, Netflix, and Pinterest.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post in this forum or call Covenant Eyes Customer Service at (989) 720-8000.

Best Regards,

Syd

If there isn't a way to read what goes on in sites blocked by https, is there a way to manually set certain sites to be flagged as M or HM instead of their default of T?

Nathan,
Covenant Eyes does not allow users to individually change the rating of websites for your report.
