Browser Errors (Empty Response/No Data Received)

Hi,

I am facing a persistent problem with using my web browser ever since I installed CE.

Periodically, my browser (Chrome) will stop working with the error message: "No data received", and below it, "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE". I would then have to sign out of CE and sign back in for the browser to start working again.

I would appreciate some help/advice on this. I am running CE on Windows 10. As far as I know, it is the latest version of CE.

Thank you,
Derek

Derek,

Sorry to hear about the trouble, but thanks for using this forum.

There are a couple of possibilities here so it's probably best for you to call our Customer Service Team at 877-479-1119. They take calls 8 am - 11:45 pm (EST), Monday - Friday and 10 am - 5:45 pm (EST) on Saturdays.

If you want to try something before calling in and you are using our Filtering Service, try removing the filter, refresh CE, and then browse again to see if that makes a difference. If it does, then give us a call. Another thing you can try is using a free malware scanner like ADW Cleaner or Junkware Removal Tool. A malware scanner can find unwanted programs that could be part of the problem.

Thanks again for posting,

Robert

Derek,

I have similar issues on Windows 10 when I change networks (from wired to wireless, or from one wireless network to another), and then to get it working again I just restart CE using the RestartCEClientOnly.exe file in C:\Program Files\CE\

Matt,

Thanks for pitching in! However, if you are having to do that on a regular basis, then please call the Customer Service Team at 877-479-1119. It doesn't sound like normal operations and, with some troubleshooting, we should be able to get things working better for you.
