Bookmarks import issues.

I am trying to import bookmarks from Safari (most recent version of Safari, using OS X El Capitan and iPhone 6s Plus iOS 9). I have followed the directions posted on the CE web site but it loads the Safari bookmarks in a disorganized manner. I have tried cleaning up and editing my Safari bookmarks but the various separate folders are all stacked in side of each other in a disorganized and seemingly random manner. Any suggestions or guidelines?
Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

This is an issue we are aware of and don't have an easy fix for yet.

The bad news:  the only way (right now) to organize your bookmarks the way you want is to delete all of the existing bookmarks and manually add them again by going to the site you want to bookmark and add it.  I know this is not even remotely an ideal solution, especially if you are like me and have a lot of bookmarks.

The good news:  we are working on a version of Covenant Eyes for iOS that will allow you to reorganize your bookmarks.  When you import them they may still be disorganized but you will be able to organize them to your liking.

I apologize that there is no easy resolution to this issue for you right now.

So, has there been any improvement bookmark management and synching or importing in the last two years, since this post?

Marc,

No and almost yes.

No, because that process didn't exist for very long and the idea of bookmark transfers was not revisited.

Almost yes, because the focus to provide accountability for Safari activity became a high-priority for CE about that same time. It's taken longer than anyone wanted it to, but, thankfully, beta testing has been taking place. After some other benchmarks are hit, we'll be able to release it. There isn't a timeline for that yet, but our marketing team will get the word out when everything is ready.

Thanks for checking,

Robert
