block specific web folders or pages

Hi, I know that you can block by domain (google.com) or by subdomain (chrome.google.com), but is there a way to block by folder (google.com/chrome)? My examples are exactly what I'm hoping for -- I'd like to block Chrome completely, including installing it. Blocking by subdomain is not enough, as the Chrome install page is google.com/chrome... and obviously, I don't want to block the domain, if possible.

I searched around before writing this, but the closest answer I've found is this:

LMK if there's another way -- thanks!

Hello Abe,

Thank you for your question! After speaking with our developers I was able to get some answers for you! First, we do have the ability to block by URL folder, but unfortunately it only works for HTTP. For HTTPS, we can only block by domain.

Secondly, blocking you from installing Chrome, technically, is very difficult. Due to the fact that Chrome can be downloaded from a number of different sources and it's very, very difficult to catch them all.

Our developers did say, that if in future versions of Covenant Eyes you would like to be able to block files by HTTPS and block all traffic for specific browser, we can put in a feature request for you!

I apologize that we are unable to specifically block the items you inquired about, but I would encourage you to have a discussion with your Accountability Partner so they are aware of websites/browsers/apps that might be a stumbling point for you and can hold you accountable in a way that is beneficial.

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact our Customer Support at 877.479.1119

Best regards,
Annelise
