Background App Refresh Settings (iPad)

I have an iPad model MD785LL/A running version 11.1.2.  I have installed the Covenant Eyes browser and the VPN.  However, each time I open a new instantiation of the Covenant Eyes browser, it bring up the following prompt, "Something went wrong...Covenant eyes needs Background App Refresh to make sure your system receives critical updates in the background." When I follow the prompt to go to the settings, I see that it is already enabled and grayed out.  When I tap the top left corner to return to Covenant Eyes, it repeats the error.

Do you know how I can resolve this issue?  Thank you.

Adam,

Thanks for posting! This usually means that Background App Refresh is turned off for the whole device.

You can check this by going to Settings>General>BackgroundAppRefresh. There you'll see the general status of Background App Refresh. It'll be either 'Off' or 'Wi-Fi' or 'Wi-Fi & Cellular Data'. If it's 'Off', hit that line to bring up the three options and change it.

It's not uncommon for people to turn it off for the whole device, as a way to conserve battery. If that's true for you, don't forget that you can turn it off for each app. Just keep it on for CE.

If Background App Refresh is still a problem after making this change, then please uninstall and reinstall the CE app, or call us at 877-479-1119.

Let us know how this goes for you!

Great! Thanks for the update!

If you have any feedback about this new version of Covenant Eyes for iPhones, please email support@covenanteyes.com. This version (4.0.0.4) uses different technology than before, so any comments about it are helpful in knowing if/what adjustments need to be made.

Thanks again for the update,

Robert
