Anyone getting bogus reports?

Since updating a few weeks ago I have been continuously getting bogus accountability reports with all sorts of junk looking porn sites pinging. I genuinely have not been browsing these sites. I have already contacted support and they told me that it might be secondary content that is monitored in the background.

Can anyone help me understand why this is happening or what apps might be contributing to this? I don't have any obviously untoward apps installed. I tried to upload a picture of the reports and all the apps on my phone but it won't let me.

Hello Thomas,
Thanks for reaching out! Covenant Eyes' legacy monitoring service, Internet Accountability, does monitor ALL types of web activity. This means visited sites, background web content, etc. However, some mobile apps can generate background web content without your knowledge. This happens due to cached data saved on your device, site advertising contracts, and a few other factors. To minimize the effects of this activity on your device:

1. Pair down the amount of apps on your device.
I'd suggest uninstalling apps that contain a lot of advertisements or pop-ups. These forms of web content can show on your report, even if you didn't directly view them.

2. Thoroughly clear browsing cookies, cache, and site data from all browsers.
When members come to Covenant Eyes® for accountability, old browsing data can still be saved in their browsers. This data can affect what advertisements are suggested to you, what auto-populated search results are suggested, and etc. Clear your browsing data for all browsers to get a fresh, clean start with accountability.

4. Switch to Screen Accountability!
Covenant Eyes® invented a new form of monitoring, called Screen Accountability. Screen Accountability doesn't report background web content, because we capture what's on your screen, not web activity. You can also switch to Screen Accountability for no additional cost! Have questions about how Screen Accountability works, and how we protect your privacy? Check out this page:

I'm wondering if it's certain ads that could cause this.Or maybe trackers. Would those show up on a report?

Hi Chance,
Ads and pop-ups can appear on your report. This is why I'd recommend clearing search history and app data for your apps. It'd also be wise to remove apps that have a lot of ads.
