Android CE Version 5.1.1.0 Doesn't Seem to be Providing Any Accountability

I updated the Android App on my LG K20 today and the app doesn't seem to be tracking my activity at all. I have given it usage access, permission to draw over other apps, battery saving exclusion, and screen permissions. There is a covenant eyes symbol in the upper left hand corner, and the drop-down settings have a notification that says "Covenant Eyes - Monitoring activity for (my username)". However, I am going to websites (googling sports highlights, checking facebook, any miscellaneous activity I could think of to get something on my accountability report), and neither the Screen Accountability Report nor the Detailed Browsing Log show any activity for my Android device. They show activity for my other devices, but not the LG K20. The app also allows me to cut off the usage permission and even uninstall the app from the application settings without batting an eye or notifying my accountability partner. I just don't understand what is wrong.

Jonathan,

It sounds like you checked some of the same things we would take a look at. Before making a few suggestions, let me clear up one item.

If you are using Screen Accountability on an Android, Mac or Windows device, there will be nothing in the Detailed Browsing Log. Only when you are using Screen Accountability on an iOS device and are using other apps besides Covenant Eyes, will you see entries in the Detailed Browsing Log.

Back to CE on your LG K20:
  • Since you mentioned an update, let me suggest an uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes the update-over-the-old-version thing doesn't go so well. Uninstall/reinstall is easy and effective.
  • Plus, the latest version is 5.2.0.3. It was released April 4th.
  • Is there another VPN? If so, disable it because VPNs will not usually co-exist.
  • Does the phone provider (Verizon, T-mobile, etc.) have some type of app on the phone? Some of those have a VPN.
  • Are there other apps with Device Admin privileges?
  • This one is rare, is there a blue light filter in place? In some cases that will cause odd results during operation. Again, it's rare but worth checking.
  • [More often we see blue light show up as an issue during installation.Thankfully, the work-around for that scenario is simple, turn it off during install.]
If those things don't check out for you, Jonathan, let me encourage you to contact our Customer Support team. The call to 877.479.1119 is FREE and anyone on the team will be glad to provide full troubleshooting assistance. If chat is more convenient, log into My Account and look for the blue bubble in the lower, right-hand corner.

Thanks for reaching out. We look forward to helping!
