The Android app drains the battery significantly fast and crashes texting all the time. It needs a lot of work. It seemed to work a lot better before the VPN solution was implemented.

I agree, I am someones accountability partner as well as paying for the service. the reports always says missing device, I pay a lot of money for it to only provide missing information. When we go in to refresh it then it shows information, but then the next day back to device missing. This individual is on his phone 24/7 so there should be some information on it.

Julie,

I have seen that a few times. Normally, it is resolved by double-checking some items on the device. There tends to be something that is hampering communication between the Covenant Eyes app and the Covenant Eyes servers; checking the settings clears that up. This article discusses a few of those things to check:  https://www.covenanteyes.com/support-articles/covenant-eyes-stopped-working-on-android/

As a simple test, I would encourage you to temporarily switch to Screen AccountabilityTM and see if the lack of reporting persists. It doesn't change your price and it's the same app. But it does the work of accountability a little differently.

If that's not an option for you, please call in with the device in your other hand. Explain that it's happened before (device activity missing) and a member of the Customer Service Team will take a closer look with you.

Lucas,

This bears a closer look because with feedback on our latest version (5.3.0), I haven't been hearing about battery drain issues or texting apps crashing. Let me encourage you to call us at 877.479.1119 for technical troubleshooting with a member of our Customer Service Team. The team member will ask you questions and do some troubleshooting with you. It might be helpful to call from a different phone, so you can easily check things on the Android device that is showing significant battery drain.

If you haven't seen this article, you might find it helpful - https://www.covenanteyes.com/support-articles/android-battery-settings/

When you say the app needs a lot of work, what exactly do you mean? Are you referring to more than the battery issue? Please feel free to reply here, or send a detailed email to support@covenanteyes.com

If you read your Google play app reviews there are many people that report the same problems so it's not an isolated issue.

I believe the issue with the app is related to the version of Google Play Services. There have been multiple reports of the Google Play Services app not playing well with other apps that are set to run constantly in the background, i.e. the Covenant Eyes app and my wife's Fossil watch app. Both of our phones suffer from battery drain and when I uninstalled the CE app, it fixed the issue. I haven't tried uninstalling any apps on my wife's phone yet.
