Android app breaks certain software

One of the problems I have noticed right after installing the Android app was that it breaks apps that block the recording of the screen. More specifically, the official public transport e-ticket app in my city (Budapest) uses this, and I haven't been able to use it since. I know that right now it's almost impossible to fix this (I might as well do some reverse engineering to fix this paricular app), but it would be nice if there would be a solution to this problem (and I haven't even mentioned Snapchat. I'm sure it would totally break it, and my friends would almost certainly receive screenshot notifications all the time).

Samuel,

Thanks for reaching out! I want to make sure I understand what you're describing. Are you saying that the CE app stops the e-ticket app completely? Like the ticket app won't run at all?

The app features a UI overlay which shows when it detects screen capturing/mirroring. The app can be opened, I can even use it (i.e. click trough the overlay), it's just that it renders the app unusable, since it relies on screen output for crucial functionality (scanning the qr code when boarding a vehicle shows an animated image).

Samuel,

As a long shot, if you have filtering, then try changing the level, or try turning it off, for awhile and see how the apps co-exist. I'm not anticipating a change, but it's worth a try.

I think you're experiencing something similar to what we see with multiple VPNs. When there are multiple VPNs on a device, only one gets to be "the boss." The same thing can occur with screen capture. When two or three apps want to be boss of the phone's screen capture ability, only one will win. And, in the meantime, the other apps act goofy. If you don't see an improvement when the filter is turned off, you might be stuck in this unfortunate scenario.

Again, please realize that I don't know enough about your phone to say that I'm giving you an airtight answer. While the aspect of "Who's the boss?" is real, there could be other factors at play here. I realize that you are in Budapest, so calling might not be an option for you. To contact Customer Support, for full troubleshooting, you can log into the Covenant Eyes website and look for the chat bubble in the lower, right-hand corner. A member of that team would be happy to go over things.
