Add to Block List Option

I think it would be very beneficial to add an option to the accountability user's side that will enable him or her to block otherwise unblocked websites on their own. Essentially, this would create an extension to the "block/allow" list on the filter guardian's side that would allow the user of Covenant Eyes filtering to block a website on their own. This could be particularly helpful if a website "slips under' the filter level setting. It would be an easier way for a user to block a website they know they don't want to access without having to go through their filter guardian. For accountability purposes, it may also be helpful to send an email to the filter guardian anytime a user adds a website to the block list.

Hello Cory,

Thank you for suggestion and I completely agree, giving filter users the ability to block websites would be a very beneficial feature. I will gladly pass your suggestion along and in the meantime any user is able to call our Customer Support and request that a site be added to their block list without a Filter Guardian's permission. If you have any sites that you would like to block please feel free to give us a call at 877.479.1119.

Best regards,

Hi there

I don't think this option has been added yet? It seems really needed, and I have been using NetNanny which does have this option and it is very useful.

That option is active when users of our original service, Internet Accountability, have selected the Filtering option.

Today, with our Screen Accountability service, we don't have that option. Our current solution is to harness the skill of Clean Browsing DNS to automatically block known porn domains on every operating system.

There has been consistent feedback about a customizable filter for Screen Accountability. The leadership team has been sensitive to it and continues to process that request and several others. While I'm not privy to their discussions, I'm fairly certain that reincorporating the Block List option, or some version of it, would be part of that discussion.

Thanks for chiming in!

Hello! We have some exciting news to share with you that may be relevant to your interests or concerns in this thread. A Custom Block List is officially coming to Screen Accountability very soon. Once implemented, this feature will be freely available to all Screen Accountability members who have filtering.
