When covenant eyes was originally installed, it was not monitoring... And upon investigation that's when I discovered the accessibility mode can be turned on and off. When covenant eyes was originally installed, it was not monitoring... And upon investigation that's when I discovered the accessibility mode can be turned on and off. So it was turned on, and I did not think it was going to be an issue. Now the app is updated, and the accessibility mode turned off automatically . Thankfully it pops up with a screen that states... Accessibility mode needs to be turned on. But if this can just literally be turned on and off when you want to be monitored and when you do not want to be monitored – how is that real accountability? Or is there something I'm missing... Because this is not my device, based on what I'm seeing this is what I'm perceiving the device is able to do

Hello, just to add on to the accessibility mode issue, the pop up screen that says, "covenant eyes requires usage access in order to protect this device" does not go away even after i allowed access.

Am I doing anything wrongly? I went to Accessibilty in settings and turned CE on, i also turned Direct Access for "Talk back" and "Accessibility".

Same issue. Running CE 2.9.9.72 on Android 5.0.1 on LG G3 D850 (AT&T).

Accessibility turns off after every upgrade and at other seemingly random times.

I also share the concern about being able to disable CE by simply turning its permissions off in Accessibility.

I am curious.  I know even if my husband agrees to have this installed on our cell phones, when he gets the urge, he will turn this app off.  Will this be on the report that would be sent to me?

I have not seen these Accessibility on/off events reported in the log. This is concerning to me for the reasons you mentioned above. If I am having a weak moment, I don't want to know that there is an easy way to turn off accountability. Defeats the whole purpose of installing CE!

Hey guys. Thanks for chiming in here. Are you guys presently able to turn off accessibility and NOT have CE force you back to the screen to turn it on again? We haven't seen this on any of our most recent versions in house. We do ask you to turn it on during upgrade. I know that can get tedious. I'm sorry! Ironically, we're asking you to turn it on during upgrade so that we're sure nothing goes awry with accessibility as you switch versions.

We expect that you're able to get to accessibility, and that you're able to toggle it off. However, we fully expect that as you navigate away from there to open another app, we prompt you to re-enable it. We shouldn't be allowing you to browse until you've re-enabled accessibility.

Please respond as you're able with your experiences, will you? If possible, can you include version of CE you're running and version of Android's OS? Thanks!

Oh... I had not realized that CE forces you to enable Accessibility when it gets turned off. I just verified that it does that. That is a relief.

My Android version and CE version are in my first post above.

Aside from upgrades, is there any other reason why Accessibility would be disabled? I will try to pay attention more closely, but it seems like I have witnessed Accessibility being turned off at seemingly random times in the past. If I see that random behavior again, I'll report it on this thread.

If CE's Accessibility is turned off only for upgrades and CE forces me to turn it on before it will let me do anything else, then I am satisfied with that solution.

Thanks for your attention,
Michael

I've been having this same issue for the last two years and still haven't had a solution yet from CE developers. This is my third year using the App, and if it's not serving its function I might as well uninstall it. Please, please, please fix this issue.
