A True Fix for Multiple/Guest User Accounts Android "Loophole"!

Many new android phones/devices have the ability to add multiple users or a guest user account. When someone does this, it completely negates CE as the software can't cross profiles. Using Google Family Link actually can take away the ability of a user to create a guest or alternate profile.

To do this, you must have someone else act as your "Family Manager" in Google Families. Once you set up that "parent" or "manager" account, you follow google's steps to set up your phone/google account like a child. Don't worry, you don't have to create a new child account, you just agree to be supervised by this other "parent account". Once supervision is set up, you can follow all of the prompts to get the "child" device (aka your device that you have been switching accounts on) set up.

Then, and here is the BEST part, on the parent side of Google Families (Accessed on another phone, such as your spouse's device, or through a web browser on your computer) there are numerous options under "Device" on the left hand side. So for me, I click on Jim's Pixel 2.

Then on the right hand side, right there on the very top is a toggle to disable the ability of my device creating a guest user account or any other user account.

This sounds like a really long process, but it is easy and intuitive and much better for your phone's functionality than the other workarounds currently suggested by CE here: https://www.covenanteyes.com/support-articles/can-lock-guest-profile-android-device/

I have to restart my phone, but now I can't create a new user! And another great part is that I can have my spouse be the "parent/manager" account and she can see my location, app usage, and even restrict app downloads, but she doesn't see any browsing history. So if you prefer your spouse not get your reports, then with this solution, you are giving them access into your recovery but without over burdening them.

Hopefully this makes sense. And I hope that CE makes a nice blog post or well publicized article on how to do this with screen shots and such. If not...I will have to make a youtbue or call them up or something. Literally stopped myself from switching back to a dumb phone or buy an iphone with basically no apps on it. This simple and free fix has been the right solution!
